Meet Our Team

“Mr. Chad has built a dojo that has such a positive and warm atmosphere. I love how he encourages and pushes us to be our personal best!”

“Coach Mike has the ability to make you feel like you are receiving one-on-one lessons despite being in the middle of a class. He is patient and has a natural gift of teaching.”

“Mr. Justin is a creative and personable instructor who shows enjoyment over every aspect of teaching and engages fully with each lesson. I am thankful for an instructor that can encourage creativity while instilling such valuable discipline into a young child.”

Mr. Chad

Mr. Chad is an instructor and the owner of Keizer Martial Arts. Since starting his training as a teenager, he’s been happily training in martial arts ever since. Trying to pick a favorite aspect of teaching is hard to do, but his immense enthusiasm for martial arts makes sharing these skills with students extremely gratifying. He believes anything that you decide to give your effort to becomes a transformative experience, and martial arts training is especially great in this regard because it empowers your mind and body. Mr. Chad can often be heard encouraging new students to ask any questions they have and explaining his philosophy that if a student needs to see a move 100 times, then he will show it 100 times.

Mr. Justin

Mr. Justin has always been interested in martial arts and loves that learning this skill provides a constant challenge. He enjoys that there is more than one right answer to a student’s question about technique and being able to embrace the individual style of each student only adds to his experience of teaching martial arts. His word of advice to new students is, “Have fun and work hard!”

Mr. Mike/Coach Mike

Mr. Mike/Coach Mike’s first experience teaching was at the age of 14 as a Boy Scouts Patrol Leader, and he has been teaching in some form ever since. He loves helping people break boundaries, achieve their goals and find their own warrior spirit! Even though he has been fascinated with martial arts for as long as he can remember, his favorite aspect of training is that there is no limit to how much a person can improve, develop and grow. To any curious individuals out there, he says, “If you have ever thought about trying martial arts, stop thinking about it and try it!”

Ms. Annie

Ms. Annie came to one of our free women’s self defense seminars, was instantly hooked, and hasn’t stopped training ever since! As she progressed in her training, she was drawn to everything about it, especially learning certain techniques that were hard to master. When teaching, she loves seeing how much kids enjoy learning and watching their excitement as they grow. If you were to ask her about joining she would say, “Do it! Do it yesterday!”

Ms. Michaela

Ms. Michaela signed up for a martial arts course in college almost by chance but quickly realized she loved every aspect of training and went full speed ahead, progressing through belts without looking back. She has a passion for martial arts because whether the student is 6 or 60 yrs old, male or female, frail or muscular, she believes we all share a common bond at the dojo: a drive to better ourselves. She feels privileged to help students grow their abilities and discover their strengths. If you’re thinking about doing martial arts, she would tell you, “I guarantee that you won’t regret it. No matter who you are, martial arts can benefit you.”

Ms. Liz/Coach Liz

Ms. Liz/Coach Liz first experienced the friendliness and support of our dojo when she brought her kids in to learn self-defense and was drawn in. Now she considers the dojo to be a second family. She enjoys the feeling of working her mind and body until it is tired while taking on a new challenge and still being happier than when she started. As an instructor, one of the most rewarding moments is watching students grow in confidence and having parents tell her that their child’s school teacher reports more focus and confidence as well. To new students she says, “Try it – don’t be afraid! Martial arts is for anyone. You may not be able to do everything, but there is something here for you!”

Ms. Carmen/Coach Carmen

Ms. Carmen/Coach Carmen discovered the world of martial arts, and the stress management it provides, while in college and still enjoys the psychological empowerment of this type of training. She has watched a student grow their skills one day, one week, one month and one year at a time – is a marvelous transformation! As one of our instructors, she can attest to the improved perseverance, focus and the confidence that is built with overcoming each challenge you face. She believes, “It is immensely brave to take your first class, so you can be proud of yourself for that. Then commit, work hard and prepare to be amazed at what training in martial arts will do for you.”

Mr. Todd

Mr. Todd saw Enter the Dragon when he was 8 years old and fell in love with Martial arts that very day. He loves pushing himself to his limits and then beyond that. When helping a student overcome a challenge, he cherishes their joy when they surpass their struggles and fear. He enjoys watching the students grow and achieve what they did not think they could. He understands how intimidating it can be to walk into a class of people punching and kicking things when you’re new and would encourage curious individuals to jump in. His advice is to give yourself a chance and, “Have patience and work hard, all things will come in time.”

Keizer Instructors

Mr. Greg

As a child, Mr. Greg’s parents wanted him to participate in a sport. But since he wasn’t interested in soccer, basketball, or football, his parents suggested martial arts, and it was a good fit. As he progressed through the ranks in Kempo and Muay Thai, he enjoyed the unending pursuit of perfection. Teaching martial arts gives him the opportunity to fit his passion into a busy schedule which includes family and a full-time job. It forces him to consider the details of a move or combination from many different perspectives. His advice to new students is, “Don’t think you have to do anything to ‘get ready.’ Find a school that feels like home and start.”

Keizer Instructors

Mr. Quinton

Mr. Quinton started martial arts with his brother. He loves learning new techniques and striving to improve his speed and agility. When instructing a class, he enjoys watching each individual student grow and become more skilled in their endeavors. To new students he would say, “Don’t think too much, come on in and have fun!”

Keizer Instructors

Mr. Steven

Mr. Steven started at Keizer Martial Arts when he was 9 years old. As a 1st degree black belt, he has found increased restraint and self-discipline through martial arts. Since becoming an instructor, he appreciates the enhancement it offers his abilities to learn as a student. His recommendation for new students who are considering training in martial arts is rooted in the belief that he would not be the person he is today if it had not been for the sense of self control that learning to defend himself and others has brought him.
